“Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
When we started our blog, it was all a part of sharing with you
all the positive things in our life that we were enjoying.
Well, as the above quote states, into each life some rain must fall.
After a second attempt at a launch, we still found water in the hold. And after further investigation (which involved another hauling out, de-masting and removing the dagger board), we found some structural flaws in the dagger board well – confirmed by a local shipwright.
The future of R.E.D. is still uncertain,
but our dream, although delayed,
is still very much alive.
For now we will focus on the few minutes we spent with our lady on the water
and continue to hope for many more…
I heard about your unfortunate discovery from Shaune and felt so sad for you two – but yes, stuff happens! I hope what's not working can be fixed, and/or that you find another "lady" to continue your adventure. I'm very much enjoying your blog and the picture-story telling of your days. Sail on!
Thanks Lori. Will work it all out somehow. Promised Shaune fireworks on the water and I don't intend on breaking that promise
