Does the world really need more images of that beautiful orange moon?
Well, here’s me adding to the gazillion pictures circulating the internet.
A professional photog friend has been shaming me into using the manual settings
on our camera
so I dragged out the tripod last night,
played with those mysterious-to-me settings,
stayed up well past my boat bedtime
and took a shot or three.
Next one of these opportunites won’t come around until 2033.
Who knows if I’ll still be around
and can you imagine how shaky these old hands will be?
I got a little better as the evening wore on
but then…
I tripped over the tripod getting this rather pretty shot,
packed it all in and went to bed.
Those auto settings are still my favourites though.
Just point and click baby!
I couldn't get the settings screen to disappear from the back screen so I was crouch with a very rickety tripod trying to do things through the viewfinder when I remembered about the Olympus app i have on the iPad that allowed me to do the settings and take the photo without touching the camera. All I had to do was to eyeball the manual focus. I could play with the settings to my hearts content until I found some that worked and just went back and forth with those. I need to read up a bit more about the manual focus. Hopefully the skies will be clear tonight so I can experiment with the almost full moon but no blood moon 🙂
