…The last couple of days have been ‘meh’
as far as good sailing wind.
We did some other things: some mods (will post those later),
went to see R.E.D. 2
…also, lately we have had some issues with our two main pieces of electronics…
VHF – no one talks to us, no weather channel info – returned…
and
GPS – just stopped working, period! – returned
…very thankful for warranties
Although we can deal with no one talking to us,
we have become used to knowing depth of water, position, speed.
It has been our safe anchor so to speak.
But we do have the knowledge to work without the tech stuff…
…basic Seamanship plotting…
we took the course…
we passed the exam…
so….
…this was François this morning…
with our charts
and
GPS HD Motion X app for the iPad
plotting waypoints…
Not exactly low tech
but a step lower until we get our
Raymarine security blanket back…
…so back to the current weather…
13 knot S winds gusting to 25 knots…
still getting used to how this boat responds…
but what a rush!
Jibing, tacking…no matter
It was ‘rock and roll’ either way…
…we handled it very well
and returned home to a good stiff rum
in true sailor style…
