WENDOVER to THE NEXT PLACE
Faced with a feisty wind this morning…
NNW…
It’s going to be a lot of work…

…and it was but also a lot of fun…
…still a lot of nature to see along the way…

…and our first cable ferry crossing…
(less than a minute each side then back again)
…this next ferry (rather FIVE ferries) gave us very little time to cross…
(thankful for a 60 hp engine)
…next fun obstacle – power lines…
…charted datum showed 25 & 28 metres
but it looked a LOT closer than that…

…then there was the weather…
(increased and very flukey winds)

…but then we reached ‘civilization’…
…the burbs – Ontario side of the Ottawa River…

…the burbs – Quebec side of the Ottawa River…

After 26.5 nm we reached the outskirts of our nation’s capital
Ottawa…
Our choice for the night…
…docking was really tough and someone has the wounds to prove it…
(otherwise nothing major and no boats were damaged in the process)

…so we treated ourselves to a fine supper at the
Rockcliffe Boathouse Marina…

…American embassy just above us…
…SO much activity on the water here…
This ‘party boat’ cruised by a few times…
(Oh how we miss the quiet of the country)
Sunset time
…and all is quiet now (sort of)…
Tomorrow will be the de-masting ‘ceremony’
for our next stage…
…see you bright and early on the Canal…
