L’ORIGNAL to SOMEWHERE ELSE
After a great night’s sleep,
we cast off from L’Orignal Marina…
…it’s fairly obvious from the condition of the river
that there will be very little sailing today…
…not a breath of air and the water was like glass….

…past the sleepy village of Fassett…

…dodged a ferry or two…
…scared up some wildlife…
…we even tried to coax some wind into our sails…

…but today I wasn’t very convincing as a pole dancer so we motored on…
…by noon we reached the village of Montebello…
…with its spectacular Chateau Montebello

…with three times the usual docking fees
and regardless of the size of boat
the minimum per diem charge is $100…
We considered stopping for champagne and oysters…
(not!)

…but continued motoring on enjoying a fine lunch…
(chicken wraps with our own boat-grown sprouts and a frosty beer)
…on the water we feel like millionaires…
…the ‘somewhere else’? – Wendover – population 836…
…they have one little store where we bought some bread from Montreal for our supper…
…ha!
I won’t be able to offer you a spectacular sunset picture tonight.
It appears as though there will be rain…
Secretly hoping for a thunderstorm…
but don’t worry, we are surrounded by trees a lot higher than our mast…
