Our day at Boldt Castle
(it’s worth reading about the Boldt story by following the above link…
a real love story…
an island bought for $20,000…
a castle built for $2.5 million…
The folllowing pictures capture our day on Heart Island,
followed by an impressive Independence Day fire works display on the castle grounds…
…the main building…

…the power house…

…the play house, complete with bowling alley…

…hearts everywhere…

…the underground passage…

…a re-visit for Francois who came here with his family in the late ’60’s…

…R.E.D. waited patiently for us at the dock…

…while we took the shuttle to the ‘little’ yacht house…

…the four doors open to accommodate a 60′ boat and sailboats alike…

…57′ luxury wooden boat from days gone by…

Evinrude’s modest beginnings…

…After our tour we anchored near Heart Island…
…took care of some basic shores…

…and another laundry day…

…for a while the weather took on the look of the film
‘Independence Day’…

…as night fell the boats gathered…

…Francois got his ‘groove’ on…

Cheering and boat horns honking…
and then just as quickly as they arrived,
the other boats were gone,
leaving us alone at anchor.
