Now this was a DAY!…

…our route…

…last few details before leaving

sunny 22 ° C, good visibility

winds 15-25 knots WSW…

…and then there was weather…
rain
winds
visibility 1 nm maximum…

…we started with basic rain gear…
…graduated to foul weather gear…

… 15-30 knot winds,

four foot swells minimum…

…when there isn’t a lot of room between green and red buoys,
it’s a little disconcerting to encounted one of these…
…and there were 4 more of what François calls BFBs (big f@#%# boats).
…not one other boat (motor or sail) in sight – just us and the BFBs…

…after 5-1/2 hours we reached our channel to Portneuf
…35 nm…

stiff drink of rum
good supper,
all secure for another night…
…our direction for tomorrow…

Winds…

waves…

tides…

currents…

dictated our direction.

…we did our best to obey…
