Keeping busy over the winter months has made the time fly by more quickly than we had expected.

…our wintery wonderland…

The Seamanship course is going well (we feel). Learning a lot. We have completed 2 of the 3 cruise plotting exercises. The course coordinator dropped by during our last class and made an unnerving comment: no one who has not taken the pre-requisite boating course (us) has passed the exam of the Seamanship course. Disturbing bit of news. Would like to be the ones who prove the exception.

April is quickly approaching. Just 6 weeks remain until we get to meet our lady. Now that she has arrived in Canada, we have access to details necessary for registering her name….a tedious process for François. But paper work is now complete. Cheque is in the mail. Three name choices allowed on the application. First choice selected. Second choice. Third. All variations of the same name really. We now wait to see if we are successful…first choice preferred of course..but regardless, she will be our R.E.D. If not, what would we do with all those red tools and galley gear? The black cherry enclosure and sail trim? Unthinkable that it could be anything else…

We have also been working on the artwork/logo with our very talented graphic artist friend. Many variations since last fall. Quite a process. Not just what will it look like but where will we place it on the hull? How big? Font style and size? Colour…well of course red but which red? Thus far we have a stylized sail in the concept and one of the biggest sticking points is re-orienting it from port to starboard side while keeping the integrity of the logo.

…Details and decisions indeed!…

…and Tylenol…
