A DAY IN TROY
Caught between slowing things down to absorb all the good stuff around us
but anxious to move forward to be in NYC by July 4th…
We had a self-imposed stop-over in Troy,
because our paper charts ended with Troy Lock.
Docking was free, minimal (no electricity) but very secure.
Dock master ordered us a taxi to West Marine,
a mere 10 minute ride.
We did a bit of damage at what is always a boater’s ‘candy store’
and Francois came away with a new toy (Wind Meter)…
and of course new charts for the lower Hudson, NYC
and Long Island…
…a little history for you about Troy…
Starting to be conscious about tides
we came across this sign (see red arrow)…
…I may need to break out my ‘pretty’ boat boots…
…After a couple of pints of local brew…
…we retired for the night to the ever-changing waterfront light show
