I wasn’t really sure how to categorize this post.  It involves a personal road trip to visit my kids on the East Coast but it also brought us along part of the path we will take on this year’s adventure…

…so I split the difference and am calling it part ‘Road Trip’ and part ‘Adventure 2016’

We had an all too brief visit to welcome the newest member of the family…

…and catch up with the grandkids.

…even the mundane was special for us.

…how quickly they grow.

…a little farther East for the rest of the visit…

…more grandbaby time and walking lessons.

…and a little reno help and a drive along the shore.

When family lives so far away,
it’s these special moments
however brief,
that put a smile on a mother’s face
and in her heart…
That’s all I need to say about this.
The pictures will say the rest…

 

…and yes, it was that cold.

Captain was more than happy to share the helm.

Multi-tasking son was more than happy to oblige.

 

 

 

Relatively calm waters allowed for us
to take the opportunity to empty the water ballast…
…one more step closer to end-of-season-prep.
Now R.E.D. sits a good 4″ higher in the water.
