An intense 3-day Saint-John Ambulance course for François has brought us to Shawinigan (half way between Montreal and Québec City) this weekend. So as not to lose time on our Seamanship course nor miss out on a bit of time away, I brought my books to study during the day.
There seems to be a tournament is town as well as every thirty seconds I here: ‘He shoots, he scores’ from a pack of little eight year olds as they enjoy a raucous game of hockey in the hall outside our hotel room. Not the best environment for concentrating so I decided to take a walk to clear my head.
…Service de Sécurité Incendie training in the frigid Saint-Maurice waters…
…François & Kathy ducks practicing their manoeuvres in the currents…

Returned with frozen toes but clear headed. Femme de chambre had come and gone and the little hockey stars had departed for the day (I hope). Peace and quiet once again and back at the books…until François returns at beer o’clock….
